It uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) or TLS (Transport Layer Security) protocols to encrypt data, ensuring that data is not stolen or tampered with during transmission between the client and server.

The main purpose of HTTPS is to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of data transmission between clients (such as browsers) and servers. This protection mechanism greatly improves the security of data transmission, preventing information from being stolen and tampered with. HTTPS is commonly used in scenarios where sensitive information needs to be protected, such as online banking, e-commerce websites, email services, and social media platforms.
