About Medium AI check!

Today I received an email regarding a violation of our Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy:

https://help.medium.com/hc/en-us/articles/22576852947223-Artificial-Intelligence-AI-content-policy

I am a heavy user of Medium and have written nearly 300 articles on it. Most of my workflow follows the following steps.

  1. Write the original manuscript in Chinese
  2. Use various translation software to translate Chinese manuscripts into English
  3. Publish to the media platform

There’s something to say

Through this email, it can be found that Medium is delivered through https://app.copyleaks.com/ For testing, I believe Medium should provide a dedicated check button for authors to use, allowing users to check before publishing, thus avoiding the possibility of this being an AI article.

Even a middle layer can be directly used during the publishing process, where the publication is put into the detection phase, and after passing the detection phase, it can be published to users for viewing. If it does not pass, a highlighted content should be returned to inform the user that it is suspected to be generated by AI and further modifications are needed.

Instead of blindly closing the Medium Partner Program for those who do not meet the criteria, as we do now.

As an author, I believe that if it is found that my article was written in AI, I am willing to actively make revisions. I also approve of moving out of the paid area

We all want a better Medium content platform.

In the future, I will mainly maintain my personal website https://blog-1so.pages.dev/
